UMD Ranked #6 in Geosciences Worldwide

The University of Maryland College Park has been ranked #6 in Geosciences worldwide by the U.S. News & World Report's list of  2022-23 Best Global Universities. The ranking reflects the strength of the Department of Geographical Sciences—a major contributor to UMD's geosciences programs. 

In addition to being ranked #6 in Geosciences overall, UMD ranked #4 for research publications among the top 1% most cited, and #10 for total citations. The rankings, in their ninth year, focus on the global research and reputation of 2,000 top universities. The factors considered include citations, publications and international collaboration.
